I just experimented to see if I could figure it out and I can't.
hmmm, sometimes I fall asleep with my legs in this position - I think of it as a version of the hanged man pose. Waiting for the answer; or rebirth, whichever comes first.
Standing this way certainly 'stills' something in the body - one is paying more attention, on a subtle level.
You are so right, anon! The Hanged Man. Goes with my reaction of waiting. The "stilling" of the body.
The leg up does stop forward motion.
