The New Expanded Jazzrap Library

KJ mentioned that she likes books so I decided to remodel and add to the library to cover her desires. I'm not reading much these days, but I intend to spend a little time seeking knowledge in those soft and generous chairs, perhaps with some virtual libation to moisten my throat. The library will be open all day and night so feel free to browse anytime. You can even nap if you'd like. There are plenty of coverlets.

A friend gave me a stack of mysteries from the 70s. She remembered an author she liked back then and has been sleuthing all the used bookstores.

They are sharp and sweet. Completely different from today's formula. I think i may begin looking for old books too. There is something there, not just recollections, but something we had as a society. Maybe. I'll let you know as i read them what i think. I mean how often do you run into -she had the most bedizened house- ? Were we using language differently or just using language? Have we dumbed the little novel down to 2bit words for our 5th grade education?
Thanks for the comfy spot to curl up, i like places like this. My home has been called "rather spare" sorta japanese or scandinavian, quiet, but i do gravitate to a cozy wood library with overstuffed chairs.

Ha ha! Never, actually.

Oooh, I like that glimpse.

Language changes all the time. Pop culture right now is at a low, of course, and everything is reflecting it. We've wondered for years how low it could go, so we'll see.

Remeber the Dorothy Parker days? There is a rich tradition of language here, and sometimes I think television influenced the decline, but that's only a symbol.

I don't know about the dumbing down. The reasons and even if it's as pervasive as we think. Maybe it's just us. Three Stooges in our genes.

Confidence is medicine. It's all hormones. You know I've mentioned fear and cortisol, a killer poison. But why on earth are we making ourselves sick?

You mention you don´t read much these days but in your extensive library you should have this book, if you don´t already, The Healing Power of Illness by Thorwald Dethlefsen, an ACE on the metaphysical connection to illness. Simply BRILLIANT. You will pulsate with it.

Here you will find some customer reviews and the price $175 IS an error, you can get a used one for a few $ on e-bay. His other book The Challenge of Fate is also excellent.

Thank you for a great library, wishing you “enlightening readings”
